- Clean up any food spillages quickly and use an appropriate sanitizer if its a liquid.
- Keep all entry points including loading bays and side doors closed whenever possible to block rodents access.
- Always ensure that dust and debris are cleaned up around the base of shelving as this can make good nesting material for rats and mice.
- Stagnant water is a breeding ground for flying insects, ensures leaks are fixed and remove any old buckets of water.
- Ask your pest control professional about fly screen doors, pigeon-proofing net, and general pest proofing which all help to keep out pests
- Inspect new shipments for signs of pests this could include: hair, droppings and chewed up paper and other dry materials which may have been used for nesting. Ensure your staff are also aware of what pest infestations look like.
